December 19th: PROJECT PORCHLIGHT 2.0

A VOLUNTEER EVENT YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS!

On December 19th, 2009 M.E.V.O. volunteers interested may volunteer with M.E.V.O. in participating in the second Project Porchlight blitz in Mahwah.  The event will be from 12:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M. at a location in Mahwah, that will be announced closer to the day of the event. Project Porchlight is one of the most important volunteer events of M.E.V.O.’s new volunteer season.  M.E.V.O. will be working with the non-profit organization www.onechange.org in pursuing their mission to replace one normal light bulb in every home in the United States with an Eco-friendly compact fluorescent light bulb (CFL).

Did you know…
If every household in the United States replaced one incandescent bulb (traditional lightbulb) with a compact fluorescent light bulb (CFL), the reduction in pollution from energy production would be the equivalent of taking 800,000 cars off the road?

Well M.E.V.O. volunteers, this is your chance to help!  Come lend a hand in volunteering to pursue www.onechange.org‘s mission and M.E.V.O.’s founding goals to clean-up, preserve, and protect the environment.  During the event, M.E.V.O. volunteers will go through a brief training workshop on how to give out the eco-light bulbs, receive a free onechange.org volunteer T-shirt, and then head to their designated sections of town to hand out the light bulbs to each home.  All volunteers will be working in pairs that they will choose themselves at the event!

If you would like to volunteer for the event please fill out the designated information below and e-mail it back to mevovolunteers@mahwahevo.org and you will be put on the event roster!
