New Concepts was created by a small group of parents concerned about the future of their disabled sons and daughters. This was and continues to be particularly important to older parents wanting to see their adult children living in an appropriate, warm home before they pass on. Therefore, New Concept’s initial focus was on providing appropriate Housing with necessary supports and services for people with disabilities.
New Concepts for Living has nine residential programs; seven residential group homes, one supervised apartments and one supportive living. Our programs for the individuals we serve, provide comfortable housing, support and assistance directed to making our clients as independent, as possible. We focus on these programs to provide individuals we serve with safe, warm and supportive home settings that nurture independence, self-worth, self confidence and provide a platform for daily living skills and future growth.
In the late 1990’s, New Concepts opened its Achievement Center with the goal to provide unique day program services, including vocational skills training and preparation for employment opportunities, gainful employment projects on an on-going basis, daily living skills training, day activities, recreation and behavioral services.
For 35 years New Concepts has been empowering and assisting individuals to “Enable the Disabled, Translate Disability into Ability, a winning opportunity!”
New Concepts for Living has worked with MEVO on several projects within Bergen County to help our clients reconnect with the earth and help the environment. MEVO has provided learning opportunities for our clients through community volunteering. New Concepts supports MEVO’s commitment to helping the environment through community service and education.
