Pony Power was founded in 2000 to provide equine assisted activities to children and adults with autism, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, emotional disabilities, developmental delays and multiple handicaps. Pony Power is a PATH (Professional Associate of Therapeutic Horsemanship, International) Premier Accredited Center located in Mahwah, New Jersey.
Through a safe, nurturing environment, riders on horseback can gain more flexibility, balance and muscle strength. On the ground and in a group individuals can explore and develop unique relationships with the horse, which can lead to increased confidence, patience and self-esteem and foster feelings of independence and pride.
Eric, MEVO and Pony Power have been collaborating on ways to integrate organic farming into the curriculum. This past summer Eric and MEVO designed and executed that curriculum, guiding our special needs populations around the notion of healthy living and sustainability. “Farmer Eric” as he was affectionately referred to and his team of volunteers were creative in curriculum, in securing recycled supplies and used our endless supply of manure for fertilization thus bringing the practice of farming to life for Pony Power clients. I recommend Eric and MEVO wholeheartedly for any support they may request and know that they will be successful in any project they set out to accomplish.

Why They’re Awesome
Provided free office, storage space, and meeting space. Partnered with MEVO 2011- 2013 to operate organic gardening summer camp six weeks every summer for children with disabilities and developmental delay as long as many other populations of people. Have provided not-for-profit management advise to MEVO in order to grow our programs and organization.
